NEWS
4/3/10 Updated cover medleys with new mixes and songs. Started working on that new original with the band.
3/27/10 Recorded some cover tracks in practice this week. These are the first recordings with the new Mapex Saturn drum set. Only put 1 mic on the kick (Audix D6) and a Blue Dragonfly in the room with the live amps and vocals. Also recorded bass amp and vocals direct and AT3525 on the Mesa Cab for guitar. I posted some clips from the session on the listen page.
3/20/10 Forgot the riff I was playing for that new song. Getting the recording stuff set up now.
3/10/10 Dave is writing a new song in drop D tuning that sounds pretty Toolish. We will see how it goes.
3/9/10 We have been really enjoying jamming with Chris on the drums the last two shows. Thanks to everyone who came out to Dewey's and Route 92 in Feb. We are celebrating St. Patrick's day this Saturday March 13th at Dewey's. The show will start at 9pm.
1/9/10 Happy New Year's to all!
1/9/10 Dave is in the studio working on original stuff, we are trying out drummers to gear up to start gigging again!
Damn its cold out there!
9/7/09 Outta Line is currently on Hiatus due to scheduling issues.
8/25/09 Outta Line would like to welcome our new drummer Chuck Larriviere to the band!
8/16/09 The benefit this Saturday (Aug 22) will be Larry's last show with the band. He has scheduling conflicts that will prevent him from being able to continue in the band. We would like to thank Larry for all he has contributed to the band. It has been a pleasure and an honor to be a part of a band with Larry in it.
Peace brother,
Dave

7/6/09 We had a great time at Dewey's for the Fourth of July and also at Route 92 on my birthday. Now that I have played a few more shows with the JVM I am really digging it. I got most of the tones I've been looking for and got the Marshall "hum" silenced with a new noise gate, better cable and a good power supply for my pedals. The power supply made the biggest difference. The new CD is available now, so we are playing a few more originals at the shows. Looking forward to Route 92 on July 25th and playing with Category 5 for Doc's benefit next month.
Peace,
Dave
6/3/09 Congratulations and good luck to Ashley who graduated from UL and is moving out of state to start her life! Thanks to all our friends that came out to party with us at Belly 2 Belly Saturday.
Guitar amp news: The TSL is on the fritz so I bought a new Marshall JVM 205H. I re-tubed it with JJ KT77's and gold pin 12AX7's, re-biased it and played it for a few shows now and I still am working with different settings. It is an all tube 50 watt head that has two channels that have 3 modes each and a programmable footswitch with 4 buttons. So I can save 4 pre-set sounds or save three and use one of the switches to control volume boost, effects loop or Reverb. So far I have been saving 4 different sounds and using my red pick up booster pedal in the effects loop for volume boost (that thing works perfectly to boost volume without changing the tone) Anyway, the amp sounds good and has lots of variety available, but it sounds a little thin and bright so I have been adjusting the EQ and gain settings and trying out different mode combinations. It seems to have more distortion and more clarity than the TSL but the TSL really had a great warm tone with killer sweet feedback I could always count on, but it was a bit muddy sounding. I think the JVM can achieve all that also but with so many options it has to be dialed in for the different applications.
Water Ski News: We got a wake board for my early birthday present and Joey's end of the year awesome report card! Went out to Henderson Sunday and everyone had a blast riding the new board. Can't wait to get out there again! Will post some pics if we remember to bring the camera next time.
Peace,
Dave
3/10/09 Well I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed last Thursday. Other than a few complications, recovery is going OK. I wrote a new Blues tune that we are working up the music for. We are trying to get our 1st CD together this month and will start playing live again next month. We have about 12 songs ready and are working up a few more. We have not decided which ones will make the final cut but we are pretty sure we will put about 12 on the cd.
Thanks to Neil and Christie for having us at The Concorde Club Feb 28th. We had a great time jamming with our friends in such a nice club! Thanks to Irma and Laura for coming to the show all the way from California!
Peace,
Dave

1/29/08 I fixed the music links to play full length songs with better quality. My new guitar amp (Marshall TSL 100) is coming in today. I sent the Carvin V3 back for a refund. I tried it every way possible and couldn't get the tone I was looking for. We are looking foreword to going back to Dewey's Feb 16th. The show will start at 9:00.
11/10/07 Route 92 got a dose of Outta Line tonight. Thanks to all our friends who showed up and partied with us. We will post pictures soon! We used our big PA instead of the house PA and everyone said it sounded real good. It was fun to crank it up a bit!

7/21/07-7/25/07 Annual Dallas Invasion!
Dave and the kids went this year. Lisa and Troy remodeled the kitchen and turned the living room into a game room with a bar and pool table. For dinners we ate seafood gumbo, stewed ducks, fajitas (chicken, beef and shrimp with home made guacamole and salsa) and topped it all off the last night with Ellerman's German Beer Brats! Tina made her famous blueberry pancakes and handled breakfast every morning. Kerri brought her boyfriend Mark over. We enjoyed hanging out with them! We jammed with acoustics every night, and Troy Thibodeaux joined us on Tuesday night! He played for hours, and everyone loved every minute of it. Dave took the late shift and played till about 2:30am. We swam in the pool, played pool, ate, drank and were merry! Didn't take many pics, but this is the new game room:
7/7/07 ARRRR and ARRREEE to everyone that came out to Dewey's this afternoon. We had a blast at the pirate party and nobody complained about not being able to hear Nicole! Her new Sennheiser mic kicks ass, so does she! Ellen got her new camera in and took a ton of pictures. I will post them as soon as I get them. Thanks to Yvonne for having us and thanks to everyone for coming out.
5/23/07 Dewey's was a good time again! We changed up the show a little bit and added some more oldy and dance-able stuff. We still managed to kick some ass with the Zep and SRV. Nicole sang Rhiannon live for the first time. Check the pics page to see yourself.
Allan just got back from his 7 day hitch and everyone is busy with the end of the year stuff. I'm writing a new song while I got some time on my hands. Allan would like to thank Chrissy one more time for dancing on the bar! Peace, Dave
3/31/07 We recorded band tracks on new original "Can't Wait" this week. Allen and Larry did a great job of coming up with a cool groove that really makes the song work! This weekend Nicole and I are recording vocal and guitar tracks and will mix and post soon. We also added the rocked up live version of Rhiannon to the set list. Nicole was belting it out in rehearsal, the energy in the room gave me the chills! Its gonna be a blast live.
3/24/07 Cow Island camping. Joey and Dave went to Cow Island for the weekend (fully armed and dangerous) and came home with some big fish and a bunch of empty .357/.38 and .22 shells.

3/4/07 We Played Dewey's yesterday for the customer appreciation party. Yvonne cooked seafood gumbo and we were hired to play 4-8pm. Dave got on the bar for one of those Stevie Ray Vaughan solos and the band played Stairway to Heaven (for the first time) as part of a Led Zeppelin rock block. When it was getting close to 8pm the crowd was having so much fun that we played all the way to about 9:45! Thanks to Yvonne for having us and thanks to all our friends that came out to see us. Specially thanks for the $111 in the tip jar!!! It really turned out to be a great night.

2/21/07 Made it home from snowboarding in Keystone, Colorado in one piece. In fact all 22 of us made it home with no serious injuries! While we were there we booked another show at Dewey's for Saturday, March 3rd. This one is a customer appreciation party with free food and live music from OUTTA LINE! Show is from 4pm - 8pm. This week we are working up a few new songs to throw in at this show. We rolled in the Youngsville Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday and jammed for thousands of people on the parade route. We got lots of people dancing and singing along and had a blast doing it. We set up PA facing the front and the back this time and were playing wireless so we were able to get all over that 40 ft float! Thanks for the compliments on our sound! Looking forward to Dewey's a week from Saturday.
1/28/07 The bartenders said Nicole was "THE SHIT" last night. They loved the Stevie Nicks and Joan Jett. We had a great time jamming with everyone at Dewey's and are looking forward to going back!

We got a chance to play 3 of our original songs live for the first time: Biloxi (slide guitar song), Love My Baby (A rocked up dance blues jam), and Sacrifice it All (Larry's song about going off to war).
